On day two of my project I created white fluffy clouds in a blue sky. Tonight I created gray clouds with a little blue sky because it’s been so rainy this week. I love the way there will be dark storm clouds and then when I look just beyond the darkness there’s blue sky.
I’m still not really happy with the way my mosaic clouds look. I think glass is just too hard for clouds.
Today starts the last week of this year-long project. I’m so proud of myself for keeping with my commitment and finishing what I started out to do.
I looked back at the designs I created the first week of the project and decided to use those designs as a starting point for this week. I’m going to add a twist to the designs I created almost a year ago.
Day 1 was a spiral. I took that idea and turned it into lots of spirals. This design is similar to a lot of my doodles.
I grouted all the mosaics for the week with white grout then I had fun painting the grout. It’s much easier than coloring the grout and using multiple colors on one piece. I’m excited to explore this more.
Monday – Summer Landscape
Tuesday – It’s a Sunny Day
Wednesday – Cardinal Tile
Thursday – Almost Symmetrical
Friday – Waves
Saturday – Earth
A friend told me that pictures were being taken of the earth from Saturn today. Today’s mosaic is my impression of how the earth looks like from way up in space
I created this mosaic on Friday and was letting it dry before I posted it but I fell asleep.
It’s been so hot here in Philadelphia that being near water is the best place to be to stay cool. There’s no water near here so I can only imagine.
I’m not sure why I tried to create a symmetrical design when I started with a base that wasn’t quite square and I used glass that was not all exactly the same size. Oh well, I had fun and I love the colors.
Tonight I used a tile that I created in mosaic class. I painted the tile with tempera paints instead of glazing it. Then I broke it up to make the mosaic.
