I had no ideas for tonight’s mosaic. I opened my supply cabinet and looked at a few different materials and tried some designs. Nothing appealed to me, though. This was very unusual for me. Most nights I either get an idea during the day, on the drive home or as soon as I open the cabinet I know what I’m going to create. I wasn’t sure what to do so I just sat still for a few minutes. Still no ideas came to me. Finally, I decided to get some inspiration from the internet. I did a search on mosaic artists. The first thing I came across that caught my attention was a mosaic of Van Gogh’s Starry Night. I didn’t even check to find out who the artist was (I just checked and it was Brett Campbell). I love the painting. It has so much movement. I decided I would try to recreate that swirling movement on a very small-scale. I used the small glass eco tiles that I’ve been using for the past couple of weeks. They’re about 3/8 inch square and I cut them in half so I could get more detail in the design. I also cut some white glass into tiny pieces. I really had fun with this one!
