This is the official last day of my project. You may notice that I had to skip a number to get today to come out to-day 365. For some reason I had a hard time counting during the year. I looked back and saw that I had the same number twice a while back and I didn’t feel like renumbering.
This has been such a fun project for me. I wasn’t sure when I started that I would continue for a whole year. I remember it felt a little daunting on that first day. Here I am, though. I am so proud of myself! Some days I didn’t feel creative but I still had to create something and somehow I did. Some days I had other things I wanted to do but I found time to make a mosaic even if I had to give up sleep. I wasn’t perfect and I missed a some days but I know I did the best I could and I didn’t give up.
The mosaics were never as important to me as the process to create them. It amazed me that every day I thought of some kind of design. Some days it came easy and other days I had to reach and stretch to find the design but I always came up with something. I definitely have themes that I go back to all the time. It’s like comfort food – certain designs always make me feel safe. I also tried to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. It was a constant back and forth, stretching and contracting, just like it is in other parts of life.
So now I have a bunch of little 4 inch (about) square mosaics. I decided that I want to sell them and donate the money to a creative cause. I haven’t decided exactly what – please let me know if you have ideas. Within the next month or two I’ll provide more information about how to purchase the mosaic if you’re interested. In the mean time please look through the last year’s posts and pick out your favorite(s).
Please continue to check my blog out regularly. I plan to continue creating mosaics and I’d love to share them with you and share my creative process. I hope I can inspire you to rediscover your creativity!
I’m so grateful for the support I’ve received from friends and strangers. It feels so good!
Looking forward to your future mosaics. Your work is very inspiring indeed. I’ve got tons of tiny fabric scraps from previous projects and I’d love to do some fabric mosaic pages for a book project which is currently in a planning stage.
This is the most amazing blog EVER!! I don’t know how you did it! And your artwork is super beautiful 😀
Thanks. I’m so glad you like my work
